- Study of pathogens associated with mortality events in native fish species in Minnesota
- Biocontrol of invasive fish species, mainly common carp and silver carp, in Minnesota
- Biocontrol of invasive zebra mussels
- Study of Koi herpes virus as a means of potential biocontrol for invasive species
- Novel virus discovery circulating in different fish species in Minnesota
